Bergen Engines is executing a significant industrial scale-up, increasing manufacturing output substantially over the coming years while expanding the workforce and operating largely within the constraints of the existing factory footprint.
Head of Operations
We are seeking a senior manufacturing leader to take full ownership of factory performance at our Norway facility. As part of the senior leadership team, you will lead all manufacturing and operations activities with end-to-end accountability.
The role will lead a major industrial scale-up, optimizing production flow, removing bottlenecks, and building a safe, reliable, and scalable operation. We seek a pragmatic, hands-on leader with strong industrial judgment and a disciplined approach to cost and capital.
Key responsibilities
Full accountability for factory performance
Lead and execute industrial scale-up of manufacturing operations
Optimize layout, flow, and throughput within existing facilities
Build a strong performance culture with clear KPIs and operating rhythms
Own operations budget, productivity targets, and CAPEX planning
Lead, develop, and hold accountable large multidisciplinary teams
Qualifications
Senior operations leadership experience in heavy industry, energy, oil & gas, or rotating equipment
Proven track record running large manufacturing operations
Experience with industrial scale-ups or major plant transformations
Strong operational, financial, and commercial acumen
Pragmatic, decisive, and hands-on leadership style, and comfortable making tough calls
The position will report to the CEO and is located at the company headquarters in Bergen, Norway.
